SALISBURY, Md. – County officials have canceled the Governors Challenge basketball tournament.
“We have been preparing for the 40th anniversary of this tournament for months,” said James Simmons, tournament director of the Governors Challenge. “Unfortunately, as COVID-19 cases began to increase last week, teams were forced to withdraw from the tournament,” said Simmons. “We pushed forward for as long as possible, but we are no longer able to provide participants with the experience they deserve.”
Governors Challenge ticket holders will be automatically issued a full refund. Refunds will be made back to the credit card used to purchase, or by check for customers who paid with cash or check.
Please allow two weeks for credit card refunds to process. Refunds issued by check may take up to four weeks.
